Purse: $2,000 to win, $200 to start, $100 for non-qualifiers
Format: MOWA Passing Points (heat winners plus top passing points make the dash)
Tire Rule: Hoosier SC15 or SC25 on Right Rear – other 3 corners are open
Mufflers: Required
Wings: Flat or Dish are legal. No wicker bill on dish wing. Flat wing can have 1 inch max wicker bill

Pit gates open at 4:00. Pill draw closes at 6:00. Racing starts at 7:00.
Track has 11:00 curfew.

MOWA Opener May 18 At Jacksonville Speedway

After two failed attempts at getting the 2012 MOWA season underway, the series is set to have it’s opening night on Friday May 18th at Jacksonville Speedway as a part of the Shawn Marquard Memorial presented by ILMO Propane. Joining MOWA on the 18th will be Super Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets.

Stay tuned for some special updates regarding the events planned for MOWA’s opening night. MOWA Sprints and Super Late Models in the same night! It should be a great show.

The MOWA race scheduled for June 8th at Jacksonville Speedway has been moved to August 24th. Jacksonville Speedway will still be the host of the MOWA opener on Friday May 18th.

Midwest Open Wheel Association Opener Set for Jacksonville Friday!

(Bill W) April 30, 2012 – Rain foiled the initial try at the season lid lifter for the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA), but they will try it again this Friday night at the Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois! A number of drivers have confirmed their intentions on battling at the banked ¼-mile oval.

Defending MOWA champion, Jerrod Hull, of Sikeston, Missouri, will look to defend his title, starting Friday. Springfield, Illinois’ Jimmy Hurley made a run at Hull, but fell just short. He is expected to compete along with Robbie Standridge, also of Springfield, who finished third last season. In addition, two-time Short Track Nationals champion, Tony Bruce Jr. is expected to compete!

Korey Weyant, Chris Urish, AJ Bruns, Jim Moughan Jr., Jordan Goldesberry, Jeremy Standridge and Joey Moughan completed the top ten and all are expected back this season. Three Rookie of the Year candidates have also indicated their participation: Paul Nienhiser of Jacksonville, Illinois, Paul Patterson of Virden, Illinois and Caleb Wankel of Jacksonville, Illinois.

Four different winners graced Victory Lane at Jacksonville in 2011. Terry McCarl, Hull, Danny Smith and Hurley all won features there last season.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday, with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with racing slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults. Modifieds, Street Stocks, 600cc Micros and Hornets are also on the card!

Change In MOWA Sanctioning For May 11 At Lincoln Speedway

MOWA officials and Lincoln Speedway have agreed that MOWA will not be sanctioning a race at Lincoln Speedway on May 11th. The next scheduled MOWA race at Lincoln will be on June 15th.

Midwest Open Wheel Association Opener Set for Lincoln Speedway April 20!

(Bill W) February 3, 2012 – The anticipation of the second season for the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) is at a fever pitch! The madness kicks off Friday night, April 20, at the Lincoln Speedway in Illinois! Twenty-six drivers have already confirmed their presence with more expected to do so in the next week!

Leading the charge into Lincoln will be defending MOWA champion, Jerrod Hull of Sikeston, Missouri. He won a hotly contested duel with Springfield, Illinois’s Jimmy Hurley in 2011. Hurley and the driver who finished third, Robbie Standridge, also of Springfield are expected to kick the season off on April 20!

In fact, the top fourteen drivers in the 2011 standings at the least are expected to compete in the opener. Joining Hull, Hurley and Standridge will be Korey Weyant, Chris Urish, AJ Bruns, Jim Moughan Jr., Jordan Goldesberry, Jordan Goldesberry, Jeremy Standridge, Joey Moughan, Ben Wagoner, Logan Faucon, Mike Hess and Bret Tripplett.

Three Rookie of the Year candidates have also indicated their participation: Paul Nienhiser of Jacksonville, Illinois, Paul Patterson of Virden, Illinois and Caleb Wankel of Jacksonville, Illinois.

Two MOWA events were contested at Lincoln Speedway in 2011. Korey Weyant picked up his first career MOWA win in July, while hometown boy, AJ Bruns did the same in September.

Gates open at the Lincoln Speedway at 3:00 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30, with racing to follow at 7:00. Lincoln Speedway is located at the Logan County Fairgrounds on 11th and Jefferson St. in Lincoln, Illinois. Roads leading to Lincoln are Interstate 55, Route 10 and Route 121.
