The fence has been repaired and the track is ready. PACE Promotions announces the return of the 410 cubic inch, 900 horsepower, winged and open wheeled sprint cars of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series and the Monster Energy Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) to La Salle Speedway on Sunday, August 21, 2011. This will be the second running of the Bill Waite, Jr. Memorial Sprint Car Race. Last year, Joey Moughan of the MOWA group, earned the title “ShowStopper” when he took down the fence in turns 3 & 4 resulting in a cancellation of the race.
The race is being presented by Interstate Batteries of Central Illinois with associate sponsors of Central Illinois Trucks, Inc., a truck sales and service group in Peru and six other locations, and Jackson Kahl (formerly the Phoenix Group), in insurance provider, with offices in Illinois, including Peru, and Iowa and Wisconsin.
Both sprint groups will be coming off a two-week rest during the running of events in Iowa leading up to the Knoxville Nationals. The sprinters will be racing for $3000 to win and $300 to start. Supporting the show will be two UMP classes: UMP Modifieds racing for $1000 to win and $150 to start; and UMP Hornets (4 cylinders) chasing $400 to win and $60 to start.
Pit gates open at 1:00 pm, grandstands at 4:00, hot laps at 6:00 with racing at 7:00. Admission prices are: Adults $18, pit gate $30, high school students (with ID) $5, and age 13 and under with paying adult—FREE. Individual skyboxes (seating for 15) and individual skyboxes may be reserved by contacting PACE Promotions (see below) Skybox seats may be available on race day if not sold out.
