Parker Price-Miller picked up his first ever Neal Tire MOWA Sprint Car Series feature win at the Tri-State Speedway on a beautiful Saturday evening in Indiana.
“This is our second time here with the wing on, first time with MOWA but the track was a little bit different here tonight, it was kind of narrow getting in and it was a little sketchy but I made it work and that’s how I got by Hunter. The car was tight in the heat race and we tinkered around with the rear end of the car and loosened her up a bit. They threw a lot of water on the track before the feature and that threw a curve ball at us and we had to hit it and figure it out,” said Price-Miller.
Hunter Schuerenberg looked to be the person to beat winning both his heat and dash races. Schuerenberg would lead the field to green as the pole-sitter for the 25 lap main event. However, Price-Miller would respond and slide his way around Schuerenberg coming out of turn four to score the 18th lap. A late caution would bunch the field back up, but nobody had anything for Price-Miller. “I wanted to stay in lap traffic but when the caution came out that allowed Parker some breathing room. I always feel a little more comfortable in lap traffic and I felt if we would have stayed in lap traffic I probably could have sliced through it good enough to maybe get some distance between the two of us,” stated Schuerenberg. Kevin Thomas Jr. would pass Schuerenberg for the 2nd position on lap 22 but would fail post-race tech inspection leaving Schuerenberg with a runner-up finish. Critter Malone would dice his way through traffic from the 13th starting position to finish third followed by Cory Bruns in fourth.
