Danny Smith owned the early part of the night, winning his heat and dash, which put him on the pole of the feature for the Monster Energy Sprint Car Series event at Jacksonville Speedway Friday night. Smith took control of the feature early, but was eventually passed for the lead by USAC star Chris Windom, making his third attempt at racing with the wing.

Eventually Smith would find his way back around Windom and assumed a small lead late in the race.  Dustin Morgan, who had charged from the 10th starting spot by running the cushion had his sights set on a top three finish with one lap to go when he got into the wall bringing out the yellow.  The restart saw Smith lining up in the first position followed by Hull and Windom with a white checkered finish ahead.

Hull dove to the bottom in turn one on the restart and got last lap slider to work to get in front of Smith which was the only lap Hull led during the night.  Smith finished second, followed by Windom.
